Heavy & sturdy tables - solid in joint. Here is a fine quality pair of antique French 2nd Empire oak bistro. Tables, circa 1850, boasting a rich warm colour, in good original condition. Constructed from solid oak, these tables exhibit a 3-plank top, above a simple straight frieze. The tables stand on four octagonal tapered & turned legs. The tables have been constructed using the traditional wooden peg construction. This is a true pair of tables (they are not separate tables that have been matched together). The tables are heavy and extremely sturdy - they solid in joint and ready to use. Ideal as a pair of console tables in the hall way or for use in the kitchen. These tables feature a mellow brown oak colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
