The table, which comfortably seats up to 8 persons, features a beautiful figured seven-plank cherry wood top, with a lovely grain configuration and rich colour and cleats at both ends. The table boasts a large pullout chestnut breadboard at one end and a large chestnut lined drawer at the other end; the latter featuring the original drawer knob. Tables that feature pullout breadboards are more desirable than those without. The table frame and top, which is constructed in the traditional peg construction, sits on four pretty but sturdy cabriole legs. The table also boasts an elegant scalloped apron, which is rare to see, along with a breadboard and drawer, is usually an indication of a better quality table, compared to most French refectory tables seen in the market place.
The table boasts a rich dark cherry wood colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the kitchen or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home.
