Baillie's "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World", Baillon was a watchmaker operating in Paris around 1749. The table clock measures approximately 82 mm in diameter, 34 mm thick. The table clock comes with a key. Mechanical condition: The watch winds and ticks. The movement was recently cleaned and oiled. Ome chipping around winding hole. A tooth is missing from the contrate wheel, but this does not stop the clock from functioning; the movement just skips past this space once a minute. Due to the clock's 270 years of age, I can not guarantee the precision of the time keeping. The watch runs the full length of the chain. Case: The case appears to brass; it may have been gilded at one time. There are minor scratches, dents, and tarnishing due to age (see photos).
Ome back bottom hing damage (see photos). The back of the case still opens and shuts properly, but the back door should be handled with care. Three is some frosting to the front crystal due to normal wear and tear for it's age.The front top hinge has a crack, but is firm and functioning properly. Please view the photos and video provided. I can provide additional photos/video upon request. Please see my other listings.
